ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND – New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh election campaign dropped into St John’s, Newfoundland for a quick stop to make a healthcare announcement and support their local candidate Mary Shortall in the riding of St John’s East.
The NDP has taken a significant hit in the polls by day 13 of the campaign as the Liberal Party scoops up polling numbers showing them with a six point lead and heading for a majority government.
Singh is the last of the major federal party leaders to visit the province in a short election campaign after Liberal leader Mark Carney last week and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre on Tuesday. It’s probably the last time the province will see a party leader visit in a short campaign where there are few votes to be had for the Conservatives and NDP.
With the Bloq Quebecois being a Quebec only party and the Green’s missing of the map its most like the end of federal leaders visiting Newfoundland this election.
