ST. JOHN’S, NL – Veteran Newfoundland curler Brad Gushue and his team opened the first round the Curling Canada 2026 Montana Briar Canadian curling championship in St John’s, Newfoundland on Friday night. The Mary Brown Centre was at capacity as the home town crowd came out to see the home town hero in his final tournament before retiring from competition. 

In his opening match Gushue defeated Jean-Michel Ménard’s Equip Quebec. 10-2. 

Its a full week of curing in St John’s. Here is the schedule and TSN is the host broadcaster.
