Twillinagate, NL – Icebergs came and hung out again in Twillingate starting in early May. This video was shot on May 17th. Icebergs are the symbol of spring in Newfoundland on the east coast of Canada. Anytime between the end of April to mid-June you can see these wonderful mountains of ice on the north coast of the island. It also marks the start of tourist season as people travel to the remote parts of the island to see them. Icebergs are about 10,000 years old and come off the end of Greenland glaciers as they flow to the sea. It takes 2-5 years for an iceberg to get from Greenland to Newfoundland.
